This Art Nouveau geometric tile was produced by Osterather Mosaik- und Wandplattenfabrik GmbH in Osterath, Germany, around 1905. Its refined geometric composition, featuring recessed square panels with deep blue diamond motifs connected by flowing ochre lines, reflects the more structured geometric German Art Nouveau design. The tile is finished with a beautifully glossy glaze in a restrained palette of white, soft grey, ochre, and cobalt blue. Its crisp moulded relief enhances the depth of the pattern. The tile is in good antique condition with bright, well-preserved glaze. There are a few small edge and corner chips consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs, but these do not detract from its strong decorative appeal.
