This attractive set of five Art Nouveau tiles was produced by M.O.P.F. (Meissner Ofen- und Porzellanfabrik) Meissen in Germany during the early twentieth century. Together, the tiles form a continuous panoramic landscape depicting a peaceful lakeside scene with tall trees, a winding path, a small stone bridge, and distant hills beneath a softly coloured sky. The composition flows seamlessly across all five tiles, creating a charming decorative panel inspired by nature. The decoration was executed using the traditional cuerda seca technique, in which a wax or greasy resist was applied to separate the different glaze colours during firing. This process produced the crisp black outlines and richly coloured glazes that give the scene its distinctive clarity and depth. The reverse bears the impressed M.O.P.F. Meissen factory marks, confirming the German origin of the set. Landscape panels such as this were intended as decorative architectural features and are increasingly sought after for both period interiors and ceramic collections. The tiles are in very good antique condition with only minor age-related wear consistent with their age. The glazes remain bright and well preserved, and the five tiles fit together beautifully to create the complete panoramic design.
