Large Art Deco Tile – Germany, ca. 1930. This is a large-format Art Deco tile made in Germany around 1930, produced by Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik Grohn. The tile is featured in the original factory sales catalogues from both 1928 and 1931.The superb Art Deco design, in brown to mauve tones, is executed in relief by pressing plastic clay into a mold. The tile is in very good condition, with a bright, glossy glaze. There is some minor edge damage, not visible from the front.Dimensions:30.6 x 30.6 cm (approximately 12 x 12 inches), with a thickness of 3.2 cm (1.26 inches).
