AN4661 Boizenburg tile € 119.00

This striking Art Nouveau tile was produced by Boizenburger Wandplattenfabrik, Boizenburg an der Elbe, a factory founded in 1903 and still active today—its long ceramic tradition now celebrated in the town’s dedicated tile museum. The design features a beautifully stylised crane standing among tall reeds, framed within an oval reserve. The softly blended glazes in blue, olive green, and white create a serene, almost atmospheric composition that is characteristic of early 20th-century Boizenburg production. The relief is crisp, allowing the colours to pool gently within the contours and enhancing the elegant lines of the bird and foliage. The surface shows clearly visible craquelure, with light impurities caught within the cracks, adding a subtle sense of age and authenticity.
