A striking Art Nouveau tile panel by Gilliot & Cie (ca. 1905), featuring a dynamic scene of a parrot and cockatoo in flight, their wings fully spread against a rich cobalt-blue background. The birds are beautifully rendered in tubelined relief, with subtle shading in the plumage and small drifting feathers that give the composition a wonderful sense of movement and elegance. This decorative parrot motif was a highly popular design in the early 20th century, widely used in architectural interiors and exported extensively, including to Asia and South America, where such colourful exotic bird themes were especially fashionable. A rare and impressive period panel, ideal as a statement piece for wall display or as a highlight in an Art Nouveau tile collection. The tiles are inserted into a fine metal frame.
